I don't use the word "scam" lightly but...yeah, this is a scam.
Joining the growing list of disappointed reviews, I have never had success getting cash back from Hilton purchases despite following the directions to a T.
Unlike other purchases that almost always show up as pending cash back within minutes of purchase (including other hotel chains like Marriott) and pay out within the time indicated, Hilton never shows up and I have to open a case.
Then, after waiting months for a response, I'm told that the "transaction cannot be traced" but that I could provide "alternative references" to move the case forward. When I inquire on what specifically that would entail, I am then unhelpfully told that "[the] resolution like this is not one that [TopCashback] can reverse," contradicting the earlier message that there might be more that I could do to rectify the issue.

I'm sorry to hear you've had a poor experience with Hilton, and for the confusion our responses to your claim has caused. We always appreciate feedback, good or bad. The claims process can be lengthy depending on when the retailer investigates the transaction, comes to a conclusion and shares that conclusion with us. When we receive a conclusion of "the transaction cannot be traced," that means that Hilton wasn't able to tie your transaction to TopCashback. This can happen if another coupon and/or cash back site was used after you clicked through TopCashback, or you had an ad-blocker on, or you made your transaction in another tab that wasn't the original tab.
