About Mission Restaurant Supply

Mission Restaurant Supply, based in San Antonio, Texas, actually began as Mission Ice Equipment Company when it was acquired in March of 1988 by the Lewis Family. At the time, the company was strictly an ice machine sales and leasing operation serving South Central Texas. Today, the company is still owned and operated by the Lewis family, however, the business has grown into a full service restaurant equipment and supply dealer, recently being named the 2012 Dealer of the Year by FE&S Magazine. The company was recognized by the publication for its family-like atmosphere and its dedication to extraordinary customer service. After being acquired in 1988, the next step of the journey was in 1990-1991, when the Lewis Family bought the Hoshizaki Ice Machine Distributorship in Houston, Texas. It was here that they developed a sister operation called Southwest Texas Equipment Distributors (SWTED) to better serve the wholesale refrigeration needs of customers across Texas. In 2001, as the customer base continued to grow and diversify, the company recognized the need for a full service restaurant equipment and supply dealership in South Central Texas - a "one stop shop" dedicated to service. The team at Mission rose to the occasion, first making an official name change to Mission Restaurant Supply, and later expanding their presence throughout the region. New showrooms were added in Austin, Corpus Christi, and most recently, the Rio Grande Valley, while still maintaining the corporate office in San Antonio along with the wholesale position in Houston. Mission Restaurant Supply is unique from others in the industry in that they don't rely on third parties. In fact, Mission is the only company in South Texas that provides a full range of services, including an in-house metal fabrication shop, an engineering design team, licensed refrigeration service departments, full service leasing of ice machines and commercial refrigeration, a web store, a robust test kitchen, and much more. With these unique services and the breadth of expertise in the field, Mission Restaurant Supply is able to collaborate with many different sectors of the foodservice industry, including school districts, the hospitality industry, restaurant chains, small mom and pops, military bases, bars and more. Throughout the years and through all the transformations that have taken place, Mission's common goal has remained the same: To offer a quality product and top-notch service to the foodservice community. We will carry on this promise now and in the years to come and we hope to have the privilege of serving you and your business in the future.
