Hmmm… hello, my name is Harry and it is a pleasure to meet you. You are soon going to see me as the lead in the brand-new TopCashback commercial, so the company thought it would be a good idea for you to get to know me a little better.

I am a hummingbird by species and spokesbird for TopCashback by trade. It was always a hobby of mine to spread the wealth around. Before I got this job, I would go from flower to flower spreading pollen. It was only natural that I found a career where I could spread my wings and the word about cash back earnings.

But this isn’t only a big day for me and TopCashback, we wanted to do something nice for our loyal members as well! All of us here at TopCashback put our heads together (bird brains are not as small as some people say) and thought about all the things our members might want. The decision was unanimous. What retailer has everything we stand for (i.e., great products and great prices)? Sam’s Club!

With this giveaway, you could win a $500 Sam’s Club gift card that can be redeemed at either Sam’s Club or Walmart! Everyone needs groceries and gas, but if you’d rather spend your winnings on something more fun, you can shop the home, electronics, and health & beauty departments. All we ask is that you comment your thoughts on the commercial or my acting prowess below by Tuesday, July 19th at 11:59 pm PDT and you will be entered to win! I actually think that the graphics are pretty cool, but I think that it could sell this a little bit more for the generation and is somewhat tech savvy, but not quite enough to understand how it works. I know that my mom (she is 70) loves to use her phone for games and even shopping because she sees thing things pop up on her fb, but i’M certain she would not understand how this works. I do know that she would love money back. For those frugal baby boomers, I think that you are missing a huge population that would be interested if explained what this is all about. My Dad, again, a little bit more tech savvy than most 70 year-olds, would drive from fast station to gas station even if it was a penny cheaper, so i’M thinking this would really benefit him. I guess that is where I come in by selling, marketing this for you. Just a thought to hit a population that wouldn’T get this at all. And, there are a lot of parents out there that age that are truly interested in not getting out, shopping, and saving money for sure….Oh, and seeing how much cash they can get back. Again, just a thought.

Cute idea, but wish Harry looked more like himself. He seems a bit too large and not as cute as the little Harry we see flying around during some giveaways.

It's nice to remember that commercials can sometimes be art, so good for you for taking this opportunity to have something nice created.

I'd suggest a more affirmative sounding hmm at the end though instead of a questioning one, because at that point TopCashback's value has been realized by the user. Also agree with other commenters that he looks like an owl and is a lot rounder than the TCB hummingbird logo. Also like other commenters' ideas about the wings becoming dollar bills somehow (or maybe bills flying out of his wings when TCB is used?), And Harry telling his family about it instead of the human (the human is kinda creepy).

That being said, I did not particularly care for that chunky , textured, style of animation. I think that the animation needs some improvement. I've been a longtime member and I encourage everyone I know that shops online to add the app and join.

Animation choice is a little odd, unique but odd. Not sure I like it. I agree with another poster that Harry looks a little obese for a hummingbird. Hummingbirds are never fat; they’Re burning calories staying afloat, so I believe he should remain thin and fit in this animation style before morphing into the TopCashback logo version of which we’Re familiar.

I had to watch the spot a couple of times to fully understand what the takeaway is—What TopCashback offers that the competition doesn’T. In this spot, there’S no differentiation between TopCashback and the other rebate sites. "Save $400 a year…” $400 over the other guys? Over not using any rebate site? There’S no further info.

“TopCashback is yet another rebate site” Is the takeaway I received. I know TopCashback is great, but if you’Re trying to get new shoppers, this spot isn’T doing it. I think more narration is needed. More explanation is needed for why shoppers need to choose TopCashback. Get that message out first. Associating Harry with TopCashback needs to be a secondary goal.

I've been a tc member for many years - i'd estimate 5-10 years and yours is the best cashback site for many reasons, including that 95% Of the time you are paying the highest cashback rates.

This was not even mentioned, and I think it is important.

When we see you adorned with your trademark colors and movement, we automatically know what to think, savings. We are already intuned and programmed, especially if we are already a member and are utilizing this great source for savings. The length and timing were just right and to the point. However some things may be reconsidered or enhanced. Maybe tone down Harry's eyebrows, consider a more subtle hmmmm maybe until the last hmmmm before the female character gets the point, maybe add some whimsical music in the background throughout the commercial or as necessary, and maybe slenderizing Harry a little.

I'd recommend making the girl better; the skin should be smooth rather than pixelated like it is now. I am curious what future commercials would be; where this is heading. Perhaps an ongoing story about what improvements were made with the girl's life after saving money with TopCashback. (Thinking of the "You can't believe it's not butter" series of commercials) Or perhaps we will learn of some reason that Harry is helping everyone save money - is he a superhero type character? Great intro; can't wait to see where it is heading.

It would have been cuter to have real hummingbird chirps (really weird voice for a cute bird), catch the woman's attention then flit around showing some of the variety of stores,cash back, deals, and her clicking at least one site showing it working. Could have been done concisely with the consumer seeing it being used, and use of the TopCashback mascot but in a more productive way along with site use voice over.

1. I love when you click on a store & He suddenly flys on your screen, it may startle me @ 1st but it’S so clever & So cute. This was awesome because I always wondered why it was Harry the hummingbird & Wanted to know more as I always assumed there was a story behind it so this was perfect.

2. I love hummingbirds, we have a lot where I live & Growing up always had hummingbird feeders & I remember I would stare forever when one would arrive because they are fascinating & Nothing like them, mainly obviously their wings, I never understood how they wouldn’T stop, it’S like a motor! While we have them where I live it’S still hard to get them to come even if you have a hummingbird feeder out so as a kid I would wait all the time & Get so excited when one would arrive & The contest I referenced always reminds me of how out of nowhere one can just show up! Therefore I loved this so much, you guys did a great job tying it all together & It definitely was entertaining so much so I watched it 4 times! Ha!

I definitely shop more when you guys have the Harry game!! It’S amazing how that works because it made me literally be on here daily & Several times a day. It was darling & During this time where all or most struggle financially & Have been dealing w/ The craziest stuff since 2020 this would be amazing to win & Relieve stress & Make shopping so much fun without the stress to win that kind of money for free.
