krisytin8Mar 12 20 - 21:02The female role model that inspires me is my wonderful mother, Kimberly. She is an inspiration and example of a strong woman that anyone would be proud to call their "Mom." She and my father had six children, and she returned to college while raising us and working full-time. She earned a Masters in Social Work, and now works as a children's behavioral health therapist. Her clients adore her, and so does her family!!

I try everyday to make her proud and try to pass what she taught me along to my daughter and granddaughter.

ktmolickMar 12 20 - 03:39Michelle Obama inspires me due to her grace and positive attitude as well as her determination to focus on raising her girls to be well-adjusted young women. Her first priority was
Creating a normal, supportive environment for her girls to grow up, despite being in the fishbowl of the White House and the divisiveness of Washington politics. Even in this age of extremely partisan atmosphere of Washington, no one can honestly say that Michelle Obama has been a wonderful mother and has done a tremendous job raising her daughters.

Member224838195507Mar 11 20 - 22:31There are so many inspirational women but today, today i'm truly in awe of the nurses I work with in the e.R. I am an er nurse myself. I work with these incredibly strong women in the e.R. Right now nurses are facing this coronavirus-19 virus and all thats still unknown of this virus up close and personal. These nurses greet the ambulances and triage those that came to the er with Covid-19 symptoms yet my largely female coworkers put on a smile and treat today, this virus, like every other emergency, trauma, or sickness. We all often work side by side in an organized chaos and they inspire me.
I would go even further to include all female nurses around the globe because they, too, are leaving their family, friends, and health to go to work in the er that is overwhelmed with people, underwhelmed with resources, and yet they still come to work knowing we still dont know everything about this coronavirus-19. So,i'm inspired by the brave, courageous, unafraid appearing, 24/7, 365days/Year, weekends, holidays, missed important life events like birthdays and Christmases. My coworkers and their families sacrifice because emergencies come in and I get to stand with these skilled, stellar woman and try to save a life, ease the pain of a patient or their families, try and save coronavirus19 victims. So yea, today nurses inspire me.

Mavarela5Mar 10 20 - 16:14I am inspired by my aunt. I always looked up to her as a kid and I still do with kids of my own. I am always using her and my cousins as examples because I am extremely proud of their accomplishments and I am ultimately proud of the sacrifices my aunt makes for them each and everyday. She has two in college and one married with a baby on the way, but she will do anything for her kids. I want to be just like her when I grow up, always have and always will. She was there for me as a teen while I struggled with life and my own mother. She took me in without hesitation. If it wasnt for her I dont know where I would have ended up.

RandaIcloudMar 10 20 - 15:07There are several female role models in my life, but i’M going to focus on the woman I most wish I could be like. My mama has such a kind heart and has spent her life taking care of those around her, including as a stay at home mom giving my siblings and I a happy and full childhood, despite enduring pain and illness all of the time. When we need her, she’S there and it’S so awesome to feel that security, even as the 41-year-old woman I am today.
naaramarquezMar 10 20 - 14:58I know is rather a cliche thing to say but my mother is my role model, my all-time favorite person, and my best friend. However, I am amazed at how great of a person she is, she cares for me when I need help and when anyone needs help she is and will always be there. She is the best of the best :) love you mom!

Member124022394446Mar 09 20 - 18:37My mom is inspiration. She was a strong beautiful lady inside and out. She taught me many things, the most important is to value yourself. She was so brave with her cancer and fought to the very end of her life on earth. She still inspires me everyday in my wonderful memories of her.
nikigoose79Mar 09 20 - 18:21The female role model that inspires me is my grandmother who passed! The lives to be 100 and she was a single mom of six kids and back in those days that was not a good thing! She did not care because she wasn’T going to let a man walk all over her! She was going to do it herself and she did! She worked very hard and raised all great kids who all became successful! Im her later years I got the pleasure of having her love with us and she mentored and shared so many words of wisdom and she was so strong she played golf, drank beer and sang at bars until she passed away! She was amazing and helped mold me into the successful woman and mother I am today!
Dolplhinmom729Mar 09 20 - 18:14My mom inspired me. She raised 7 kids pretty much my herself, working 3 and sometimes 4 jobs at one time. She always made sure that we had clothes, (she sewed most of them) she ate after we did, making sure we got enough. She could stretch 50 cents and make it go as far as $ 1.50, sometimes $2.00. Mom was strong, and loved us all equally, showing us everyday. Because of her, we all became independent adults, with manners , respecting others, and a work ethic that was almost as strong as hers. When Mom was dying , her wish was to die in her home and we all made that happen for her, when others could have put her in hospice or a home. To this day we will always remember her as a strong woman who loved us with all of her heart and we loved her the same way.

pamgard531Mar 08 20 - 16:24What Grandmother as a role model inspires me! She has always written me letters throughout the years, supported me to become in activist and advocate for people who can not speak for themselves and Native Americans. She grew up without a Native Mother and a Father. Her father was shot in front of her at age 5 and the government took her and her brothers away from their Mother, and sent them to a home that was abusive. Her Mother was put in an institution to where she could not see her until she was 17. She told me the stories and I am her voice and the voice for so many others. She was never afraid to voice her opinion and let men know how she felt about them if they tried to lie or deceive her. She is my rock and my strength. In her own words she said, "i am a part of your heart and you are a part of mine" She taught me to never give up no matter how tough life becomes because there's always hope. I love her dearly. She is my Mother too

Member1016055248534Mar 08 20 - 11:18My grandmother, Sue Skinner, is hands down the most unrecognized, strong and amazing woman that has ever graced this earth. She has survived the death of her husband and 2 of her 5 children and still she carries on running 2 businesses that she built from the ground up. As successful as she is, she's managed to make it undeniably evident that her family is the most important thing in her life. She is a force of nature. She is unstoppable. She is everything that I aspire to be.
Member714748913251Mar 08 20 - 07:53I hate trying to write, but i'll try. The one person in the whole world isn't daughter Lilly Marie. She just turned 10 years old in February. She is autistic and sometimes she struggles with life in general. But she wakes up every morning as happy as can be. She has a hard time making friends, she just keeps trying and I admire that about her. She is very resilient and she does her best. She doesn't like being different but that's what I love most about her. She is a beautiful girl that is going to fight to fit in just like all of us.
dentaldeMar 08 20 - 07:39All women inspire me. Women have changed the world. Every woman has a story to tell. Some may not be as publicized as others or have made a mark in history but " each one of them is Jesus in disguise" as quoted by Mother Teresa.
Boop83Mar 08 20 - 07:13My mother! She has overcome so much adversity from losing her mom at at the age of six and having to step in as care giver to her disabled brother and younger siblings. To losing the love of life ( my father) when I was a senior in college. To this day she still cares for her brother. To do all of this she has sacrificed so much. But she still wears a smile on her face. She is so playful and full of joy when she is with her family that you could never imagine the pain and tragedy she has faced in her 60 plus years of life. Super encouraging and loving. She has taught me to look towards the Lord for strength and to know He works it all out for our good. Just trust in Him and you can get through all life throws your way.
Hello There,

It reaffirmed my belief in always keeping your hope and faith alive and strong while waiting for the storm to pass. I think she does this so well in her life, and lives so gracefully!

Member821079122004Mar 06 20 - 20:31My mother has inspired me my whole life. She escaped bombing during WW2 by fleeing with her parents into a German basement. She married a us army officer and moved here speaking little English while my dad went to Vietnam. They divorced 11 years later because she said she wasn’T going to follow my dad around anymore like her life didn’T matter. She got a microbiology degree and later supervised the lab at the largest trauma center in n Cal. She has 6 homes all bought by herself in one of the largest/Most expensive rental areas. Money aside, she got all that from hard work, overtime and simply saving that one dollar over and over. If only I had that will power. And she beat cancer to the ground 18 years ago.
Love you mom!❤️💐

Member1122950806457Mar 06 20 - 18:22Female role model that inspires me most has to be hands down, without a shadow of a doubt my mother, Mary cipolla. She has not only been there for many many years for me, to support me and love me, to show me compassion and affection, and just to be the mother who tries to do it all within her own memes. Ever since my father passed away back in 2004, she has had to assume the role as both a mother and a father and that is no easy task at all. Especially with the type of father that my dad was, he was my best friend, my rock and my passion for playing baseball and just an all-around great individual. Someone definitely I would hope to make crowd one day and someone who I want to look up to and be like. My mom has worked countless jobs, even up to three at one point just to try to support our family and myself, and with me being the baby and whatnot she has done a tremendous job given what she has been dealt.

After having her child at a young age, she managed to go back to school and get 2 degrees and now she's working on her 3rd one. I am very proud of her. So, I would have to say that my Sister is my role model for sure.

Nandikanti12Mar 06 20 - 15:25My mom and my wife inspires and increased my respect for women. My mom worked really hard to raise me and my sisters. She lead by example and we just learned from her, I was an organic process. She never forced us do to anything against our wish and we made smart choices simply because we grow up seeing those choices she made. She is a good teacher, mentor and strong personality. She stood by us in hard times. I am always grateful for the life she has given me.

My wife showed me what women has to go through her life for the happy family. I learned seeing her, the pain a women has to bear to give birth to a baby and to raise them. She sacrifices all her happiness for the happiness for the kids and family. Her family becomes priority over herself. She increased my respect for women multiple folds.

Happy Womans day!

MandasiaMar 06 20 - 11:47Hi and by the way, i'm totally enjoying this subject; it has been a long time in coming for people to recognize women's equality everywhere. I have several women who have inspired me along the way. (Of course, the way has been long and winding and some of these women I actually know and some just via some sort of media). So, my list begins:
1) God rest her soul, the first name is that of my mother, Catherine (o'Connell) Bourque, who even in the face of poverty and other adversities, she raised me to be the woman I am today.....Equal to any man on the face of our universe.
2) Cher, who throughout her life, has (and continues to) demonstrate how to be exactly who she is, no matter what. She always shows dignity, while being herself, and is full of honor.
3) Hilary Clinton, who again, no matter what adversity she has or is facing, is a proud, strong woman and stands by her convictions
4) Oprah Winfrey, we all know how powerful and nice a person she is, while being true to herself
5) Michelle Obama, who is absolutely beautiful, inside and out, brilliant and shows younger generations to be whomever they are and to get what they (we) all deserve.

That's only a partial list and i'm sure my memory and thoughts will be bombarded with more names, etc (Cindy Lauper, Kate Montini, Lauren Alice Koslow, Sophia Bush...) Again, only a partial list.

They showed strength, kindness, inner beauty, all while being true to themselves. Those are some of my role models....Deirdre Hall....Oh, the list goes on....

Thank you,
Arlene Tetreault
