Once you've made your reservation, you can then modify or extend your vehicle rental if needed. Traveling with family? Hertz also rents infant, child and booster seats, which is especially helpful if you're planning to rent the vehicle through an airport Hertz location.

For those who are planning an extended trip, Hertz offers monthly rentals in the U.S. that can be leased from 63 days to 11 months. The number of consecutive days for car rentals can vary depending on each state, so make sure to verify the maximum rental days allowed within the state you are departing from.

Under 25? For an additional Young Renter fee, Hertz offers select car class options to young adults who are at least 20 years old, including economy cars and SUVs. The company provides car rental services for people with disabilities as well, such as vehicles that come equipped with hand controls and/or spinner knobs, designated accessible parking at car return locations, an Easy Access Bus Service for passengers who are in wheelchairs and a phone service for the hearing impaired.

Join the free Hertz Gold Plus Rewards program and earn one point for every dollar you spend on car rentals. You can use your points toward free rental days, which includes luxury rentals from the Hertz Dream Cars Collection. Hertz Gold members enjoy no fee when they add an additional driver, and also get access to more car rental options with Hertz Ultimate Choice, a benefit that's exclusive to Gold Plus Rewards members. Not to mention that you can skip the line at the counter and go straight to your car rental when you’re ready to pick your vehicle up.

Once you either complete 10 rentals or spend a minimum of $2,000 within one calendar year, you'll be upgraded to Hertz Five Star status, where you'll earn 25% more rewards points toward free rental days and enjoy car class upgrades at participating Hertz locations.

To move up to President's Circle status, you would need to complete 15 rentals or spend a minimum of $3,000 within one calendar year. In addition to all of the above-mentioned perks, the President's Circle tier allows you to earn 50% more rewards points toward free rental days—plus, you can enjoy a wider selection of cars available for rent and a dedicated President's Circle customer service line.

Be aware that Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points have no cash value, so if you cancel your membership you would also be forfeiting any points you may have earned.

Last year, Hertz treated Black Friday shoppers to up to 30% off base rates when they paid in advance. And the discount applied to all vehicle types—perfect for anyone looking to save big on their next rental. These deals were available through November 28, making it easy to snag a great price on everything from compact cars to luxury SUVs.

Hertz’s Cyber Monday sale also featured the same up to 30% off base rates offer when you paid upfront. It was a great way to secure your rental at a discount, whether you're traveling for business or leisure.
