With the fall approaching soon and holidays not too far behind, we want to know — have you been keeping tabs on your finances?

Tell us, have you changed your budget and saving habits due to inflation? When you shop, do you buy generic brands to save money? Have you ever driven further to find a cheaper gas station?

These are the things TopCashback wants to know. And who better to answer all these questions than you?

JenniferHJuly 31 2022, 12:50 Thanks to TopCashback, the cash back i’Ve earned makes me feel I am not actually paying more due to the inflation. The way I tried to save money is to eat out less and buy generic brand products instead.

viennyJuly 27 2022, 06:39 Before I use to spend only on things I want for the past 6 years I have been telling myself I really need to stop and how I will stop buying thing I don't need. I finally find away to stop thanks to covid and inflation, they really touch me that I have to do with what I have and want I really need not want I want. Its been 3 years now I save lots of money. That only thing that covid and inflation did great for me. Covid and inflation really teach me a lesson thank God

Member1031777593008July 26 2022, 02:56 Oh my I have stopped spending a lot because I been out of work since covid and trapped in my home due i'm allergic to the vaccine and to scared to go anywhere so over 2yrs top cash buying online which alot of stores do not have free shipping.I raise grandson 6yrs and have not got one cent of help but when I worked I spent $500 mth food to now $250 mth Walmart and his school clothes is something idkn what to do because I get no income but living off my savings still that is about to run out.Covid has messed my life my spending my free time,me and axels fun time all up..I can not buy much but buying from the dollar tree that is now $1.26 per item is way cheaper than any other store besides paying out the butt for shipping.

Not as well as I should be.

We are always intentional about looking for the best deals when shopping for food and clothing. Inflation has made us even more attentive to our spending.

When you shop, do you buy generic brands to save money?
Yes, we do.

Have you ever driven further to find a cheaper gas station?
Only a few blocks. However, if we are already in a nearby town that has cheaper gas, we fill up before coming home.

I keep a pretty tight budget and don't buy things unless I really need them or its at such a price that I feel like I won't get it at a deal that good again. I always search for discounts and use cash back apps all the time.
I typically always by brand name items unless its really good paper towels, toilet paper, or bottled water.
I stop at the closest place to me when I need gas because the price difference is not going to be that much when it comes right down to it.

We go to Costco every other week and before it was like 300 to 500 per trip because we felt everything is a good deal. What used to happen was because we are such a small family a lot of food used to go bad before eating. Feels like Costco is a bad idea for a family of 2

tikitJuly 23 2022, 06:59 I always try to look for something positive when everything seems to be bad.
Since the gas went up, we tried to walk more. We used to drive to go to the post office or the grocery store, which are only a mile away.
Now, my children and I try to walk whenever is possible, we chatted during the walk and at first we were a little lazy, but now we love it.
We are losing weight, we spend more time together and the walk also relaxes us.
I did the test, and walking 1 mile takes about 18 min, and when I was driving, usually took me 10 min for the same distance (between traffic lights and trying to find a parking space).
We are also turning off the air conditioning during the day while we are at work. The electricity bill has dropped by 80 dollars a month since we've been doing this.
Among other things, try not to buy compulsively, make smart and really necessary purchases. Many times we buy things compulsively that are not really needed.

For gas yes absolutely we have drove further for cheaper gas. I also like to play the circle k instant win games because I can get 25cents off a gallon or 15 cents off a gallon. Those prizes arent guaranteed. But those were the ones I mostly won. Times are hard and I try and get a deal anywhere I can!

We have a certain budget that we spend and equal that amount to be put into savings so that we will not be behind. I usually am the one to grocery shop and always look for the best deals whether they be generic brands or company brand names. Most of the time I will buy generic as their prices are usually lower. However, with cashback sites like TopCashBack, and cashback apps, I am able to buy brand names that allow me to get these brands names cheaper than generic. Cashback sites help me get more for my money and also brand names for less cost. I also have seen a couple cashback sites for Gasoline as well. I will not drive a lot farther to save on gas because in reality it will cost me more gas to get to those gas stations. I will however, drive a little bit farther if I can get cash back enough to allow me to save more than I would be spending. Honestly, I don’T think I can prepare as well financially and budget as well without all the cashback sites and apps. I am so thankful for these websites and companies.

Recession and inflation concerns us a lot, we do buy stuff in bulks or wait for deals. Always buy with TopCashback if possible to earn cashback. Thank you for the give away chance.
