How to Maximize Your TopCashback Experience

It's happened a few times. You click through to the merchant of your choice from the TopCashback portal, yet when you go to check your account after completing your purchase, you're shocked to see that your purchase hasn’t tracked. Immediately you think you must’ve been cheated from the deal.

Rest assured, this isn’t the case. With just a few of these simple, rather mindless tips, you can be pretty confident that your purchases will track properly.


 

  1. Be sure to clear all your cookies/cache before signing in to your TopCashback account to begin shopping.
  2. Double-check that you don’t have ad blockers of any sort installed on your device.
  3. Be mindful that once you’re shopping on the TopCashback site, you must stay on the site without navigating anywhere else on your desktop. For example, don’t check your email in between your browsing/shopping on TopCashback.
  4. Always triple-check the terms and conditions of each merchant to ensure that you’re not breaking any of the qualifications to receive your cash back. Some items, for example, might not be eligible for cash back.
  5. Refrain from using coupons or promo codes that are not offered by TopCashback. Discounts of any sort can disqualify you from receiving cash back.
  6. Any canceled/returned items will no longer be eligible for cash back.
  7. Some merchants recommend that you start your shopping with an empty cart. So, as always, it's best to read the terms and conditions thoroughly.
  8. If you don't want to completely remove your ad blocks or extensions, consider disabling them at the time of purchase.

 

We always want our members to get the most out of their TopCashback experiences, and we understand it can be quite easy to overlook some of the verbiage in the terms and conditions. But if you take those extra few minutes to make sure everything looks good on your end, it will really pay off!

whittonmFebruary 21 2024, 06:55 I now purchase from a web browser with no extensions, with no other tabs open, and just go to cashback and use it to go to the retailer site and make a purchase. I still often do not get cash back with no explanation.

The cash back listed on your site was 10% For all of these purchases, however, my pending cash back is listed as 4% For all these visits. andre45January 15 2022, 07:49 Does using the TopCashback extension eliminate the need to clear cookies and disable other extensions? Or is that still necessary? And will the extension work even if third-party cookies are blocked? Several browsers do this already by default, and Chrome is expected to in 2023 (they delayed it a year).

That is absolutely correct- You do not need to clear cookies or disable other extensions. Also, our browser extension will definitely still work even if third part cookies are blocked by the browser.

There is such a low travel agent commission, perhaps a maximum of 10% But i'd suggest nearer to 5%, On such tickets that to afford a $1.50 cashback the ticket purchase value would realistically need to be a minimum of $30.00.

So how can trip.com possibly be offering $1.50 for any value of train ticket purchase when such tickets can be priced for as little as $2.50?

alankaoFebruary 25 2021, 11:59 Updated: problem solved by Dominique and I had finally received my cashback

When I made the order, I did confirm that the 2% Cash Back had been activated. And after I placed the order, there was a message "You've qualified for $10 cash back on this Best Buy purchase!". Please see the first two attached screenshots. Two days after the order was placed, I had an email from TopCashback confirming that my "recent purchase has tracked" (see the next screenshot). So it's very clear that my Best Buy Purchase was qualified for the two case back offers and they were appropriately tracked and confirmed! There had to be a problem at your side that those two Pending Cash Back Entries had gone missing and I didn't receive both Cash Back amounts! Please rectify these errors and reinstate the two confirmed Cash Back amounts.

Chromium is now blocking third-party cookies in incognito windows as of version 83, so assuming third-party cookies are required, that won't work anymore. A regular window should work as long as one checks the Settings to make sure all cookies are allowed, including third-party cookies.

Also, some browsers, including Safari and Firefox, now block third-party cookies by default. These 2 browsers have over 20% Of total browser share. In addition, Chromium is expected to block them by 2022, so that needs to be watched.

andre45August 25 2020, 01:37 It's not necessary to remove extensions such as ad blockers. Temporarily disabling them is enough. It's not necessary to clear cookies either, if one completes the entire process (from clicking through from TopCashback to completing the order on the merchant's site) in a single private browsing/Incognito window. When such a window is opened, preexisting cookies are hidden, but new cookies can be set for the lifetime of the private window. Please update your advice, as extensions and cookies are useful, and many people will understandably not be willing to remove/Clear them permanently. Thanks.

Thank you for reaching out. We don't currently have a way to test browser settings, but you should just make sure that all ad blockers are turnd off. For how to clear cookies, it may look a bit different on every browser, but essentially right nefore clicking through to TopCashback to make a transaction it is recommended to visit your settings to clear your data. For example on Chrome, simply visit, "history", select "clear browsing data", and leave all check marks "checked" where it asks if you'd like to clear your cookies, cache, and history. I hope this helps :)
