Launched in 1998, The Trevor Project is an American non-profit organization that’s geared toward preventing suicide among LGBTQ people ages 13-24. It employs trained crisis counselors who are available around the clock, 365 days a year, across the United States. They can be reached confidentially by phone, text or online chat. And their services are completely free. The Trevor Project’s “TrevorSpace” is another cost-free way for struggling LGBTQ youth to connect and make friends with people who share similar experiences. It’s a moderated online community of over 400,000 members that listens, shows support and gives advice to anyone in need.
