Any pet parent would agree that the hardest part about going on a trip is leaving your four-legged companion behind. Luckily, there are plenty of hotels that welcome furry guests, so your pet can join in on the fun. From complimentary treats to loaner doggie beds, your buddy will feel right at home.
Read on to learn which pet-friendly hotels are eligible for cash back. Of course, be sure to call and confirm when booking since (sadly) not all locations accommodate pets.
Best Western Hotels & Resorts – 20.2% cash back
Your pup is welcome at over 1,200 Best Western hotels in North America—many also take cats, birds and other small pets too, though be sure to verify first. The chain’s pet-friendly hotels allow up to two dogs with a maximum size of 80 pounds each and also charge a pet fee and refundable damage deposit.
Depending on your location, a number of Best Westerns have walking spaces for your dog to stretch their legs, as well as waste facilities. Not to mention that some hotels will greet you and your pet with a new blanket and treat upon arrival.
At certain locations you may even be welcomed by the hotel’s resident pet. For instance, guests who stay at the Best Western Wesley Inn & Suites in Gig Harbor, Washington, can expect to get a warm welcome from Wesley, the adorable Shih Tzu and hotel ambassador.
Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts – 6% cash back
The upscale hotel brand has plenty of amenities for both work and play, including on-site meeting rooms, dining and swimming pools. And with more than 77 pet-friendly locations in North America, your furry friend can get in on the action too. Pet fees and weight limitations vary for each hotel, so it’s best to check with the location where you’re staying.
Some Crowne Plaza hotels offer treats, water bowls and dog beds for purchase, as well as large green areas with waste stations and pet-friendly patios.
Like Crowne Plaza, Hotel Indigo is part of IHG Hotels & Resorts. The boutique brand has over 60 pet-friendly hotels, though pet fees and weight limits vary by location. Some of the amenities your pet can enjoy include treats, bowls, beds and complimentary food.
Plus, some locations are extra welcoming when it comes to furry guests. For example, at Hotel Indigo San Diego-Gaslamp Quarter, pets stay for free and can even join you for happy hour at the hotel’s rooftop bar.
Marriott International – 6% cash back
With over 1,500 pet-friendly hotels, you definitely have your choice with Marriott. The company’s pet-friendly brands include W Hotel and Element by Westin, where your pup will be pampered with things like a welcome gift, bed, bowl and pet-in-room door sign. Some Aloft Hotels locations welcome dogs under 40 pounds with their own bed and bowl in addition to complimentary treats and toys.
Other pet-friendly hotel brands for Marriott include Westin, Moxy, Residence Inn, Delta Hotels and more. Remember that each hotel has its own pet fee and weight restrictions in place, so make sure to confirm before booking.
Here’s one of the more affordable options. Pets weighing 80 pounds or less stay for free at select Red Roof Inn and Red Roof PLUS+ locations. Red Roof has over 670 pet-friendly hotels with many locations offering treats and relief areas for when your pup has to go potty.
The hotel chain even has its own Red Roof LUVS Pets social media channels for Instagram, Facebook and TikTok, just in case you need some added cuteness in your life.
While not every Holiday Inn Express property is pet-friendly, the chain has over 700 hotels that welcome furry friends. Though it depends on the location, some hotels have grassy areas for relief, as well as dog treats. If you’re looking to bring your feline along, be sure to check ahead since not all Holiday Inn Express hotels allow cats. Pet fees and weight limits vary across locations.
Planning an extended stay? Staybridge Suites (part of IHG Hotels & Resorts) has plenty of room for you and your pet to lounge about, with suites that include fully equipped kitchens and lots of storage space. The good news for pet parents is that all Staybridge Suites locations in the Americas are pet-friendly.
Pet fees and maximum weight vary by hotel, though many hotels have designated walking areas and waste facilities as well as treats at check-in. You’ll also get a “Pet in Suite” sign to put on the outside of your door.
Comfort Inn by Choice Hotels – 10.1% cash back
Your pup can join you when you’re staying at one of the pet-friendly Comfort Inn locations. Be sure to check with the hotel you plan to visit for specific pet policies like fees, weight and breed restrictions, and whether other smaller pets like cats are allowed.
Choice Hotels has over 3,500 pet-friendly hotels around the country, which also includes brands like Econo Lodge, Quality Inn, Rodeway Inn and more. However, if your dog likes to snuggle up with you, then this is probably not the best match since pets are not allowed on the bed at Comfort Inn or most Choice Hotels brands.
